I am an avid gun enthusiast. I firmly believe that to be conscious and safe gun owners, we need to educate ourselves. We do this by taking in-person classes and private lessons with a certified firearms instructor. This allows us to improve our knowledge and our skills. How we improve our skills and knowledge is by reading, training, and practice, both dry and live fire, by challenging ourselves and by moving out of our comfort zone.
I love the community of gun owners I am a part of and have had the privilege to instruct. We offer something for everyone.
I am a USCCA and A Girl and A Gun Certified Firearms Instructor. A Certified Range Safety Officer with the NRA, USCCA and A Girl and A Gun (AG & AG). I am Certifies in CPR, first aid and Stop the Bleed. I am the Facilitator for the A Girl and A Gun Douglas County, NV Chapter. I recently was a full-time instructor at a local firearms training company in Carson Valley until it closed its door. I have had training with a few of the best trainers in the industry and am continuously taking more advanced training.

Keith Smith
I retired from Law Enforcement after 33 years of service. I have received my Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Professional Certificates from the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards, and Training (CA POST). My duties included responding to emergency and nonemergency calls, as well as criminal, civil and traffic enforcement and investigations. I was also assigned as the Division Rangemaster and Defensive Tactics Coordinator with the primary responsibilities of training and overseeing a cadre of approximately 30 to 35 instructors and providing training in all aspects of “use of force” training (chemical agent, defensive tactics, impact weapon, rangemaster/firearms, high risk entry) to the department's 350 sworn personnel on a statewide level. I also prepared manuals, policies, and procedures for the department related to training and “use of force”. I graduated from over 22 CA POST instructor courses in chemical agents, defensive tactics, impact weapons, range/firearms, high risk entries, and tactical training courses from multiple institutions keeping my training varied. I also served 6 years in the California Army National Guard in the Military Police.

I have been working with firearms for over 3 decades. In that time, I’ve become familiar with old, new, and unique firearms. As a Law Enforcement officer I held numerous positions including Crime Scene Investigator, Officer Involved Shooting Team Member, Firearms Instructor, Rifle Instructor, Shoot House instructor, Use of Force Instructor, Armorer, and Law Enforcement Academy Instructor. These trainings and experiences provide for a unique insightful educational opportunity, focusing on use, legality and responsible ethical carrying of firearms. We are fortunate to live in a county full of liberties including our 2nd Amendment. These liberties require us to be responsible. Responsible possession and carrying of firearms are a perishable skill which requires continuous training.
